Sketchbook
Elementary school kids are eager to get on the bus and go to school, but as children grow up they begin to dread it more and more. This is because in elementary school we are allowed to use our imaginations and have fun. But in high school we are stuck taking required common core classes with limited career related electives. High school teachers always claim to be preparing us for the future, yet all we are ever tested on is memorization. We are not taught real life skills like how to pay taxes. Our imaginations and passions are suppressed and that is why we want to escape school.
This photo portrays the hands of many different students trying to claw their way out of a locker, representing school.
